林に落ちているもの(小枝など)の総称だと解釈して、木の実と意訳しました。

*the story with no ending
物語が終わるということは、繋がりが途切れるということ。つまり彼女とずっと一緒にいたいってことだと思います。

タイトルのlive to tell the taleは「生還」という意味。生きて帰って苦労話を聞かせるということですね。死んだら話せないですからね。主語に当たる人物はかなり危ない状況を経験したことになります。それは恐らくマイケルの躁鬱病のこと。

アルバムタイトルのchunk of changeは「大金」。（Amazonのレビューに「カップルがイチャイチャする場所」という説明がありますが、スラング辞典には大金以外の用法の記載はありませんでした…。） この記事にある通り、アルバム自体が彼女へのバレンタインの贈り物ということで。マイケルにとって彼女への愛は大金、ということですかね？とても愛に溢れて真摯な、けれどファンタジックな歌詞だと思いました。
