Sam's Townのプロモーション中、わたしは高校生で、ライヴを観に行けず。それから大学生になっていよいよ！と思っていたらキャンセルが続き、結局Day&Ageツアーは日本まで回らず………
Day&Ageまではたまにこの曲をライヴでやってたりしたので、期待したんだけどな…。
始めから終わりまで勢いに乗って突き進む感じが良くて、Sam's Townが他に比べて評価されなかった理由がいまいちよく分からない。この曲もシングル化できたくらいの大曲だと思う。

かなり変わった曲。既に（※アルバム発売当時）大嫌いだって言ってる人もいる。一方で気に入ってくれてる人たちはみんな熱烈に気に入ってくれてる。そういうのっていいよね。もし音楽の軌跡が現実にあるとしたら、こういうものなんだと思うよ。聞き始めると終わらないでほしいなって思える曲。コーラスは毎回違って、僕らにとっては異例の構成。何か新しいことをしようっていう僕らなりの模索の跡なんだ。このアルバムで最も事実に則した曲でもある。僕はラスヴェガス生まれだけど、育ったのはユタ州のネフィーという小さな田舎町で、そこから逃げ出そうとしてたことだとか、想像するだけでワクワクしてたことが、全部歌詞に詰まってる。
