本文ではearthを「大地」と解釈して訳しました。地球と捉えた場合、前半は「くたびれて問題だらけの地球」と訳せ、それに従って後半のrollingは「回る」となります。今回は登場する他の比喩にスケールを合わせて前者のように訳しましたが、歌詞の真意を表すのは後者の訳だと思います。
アルバム名のdown to earthは「現実的」という意味。日本語では「地に足がつく」。対照的にin the cloudsは「非現実的」という意味です。
