hold back the river =「涙を堪える」と訳すと、人生や時間の流れの比喩に対応しないので、そのまま「川を塞き止める」と訳しました。最初のバースは特に意訳が多くなりました。音楽の道に進むと決めてから疎遠になった仲間のことを思って書いた曲だそうです。
